Our Chef Kerry MacDonald

" Food is Life!"

    

    Chef Kerry MacDonald believes that food is not only necessary for life but the consumption of food is an event that brings people together socially and is in some part the heart and soul of our society. The heart of a house is the kitchen. Food prepared and served well can MAKE that event.

    As a native of Prince Edward Island Kerry promotes local meats, seafood, produce, breweries and wineries. His passion for cooking began from his mother when he was 8 years old. Always experimenting with cooking at home he decided to pursue his passion at the Culinary Institute of Canada where he graduated as class valedictorian in 1996. 

    Shortly after he obtained his Canadian Red Seal Chef certificate.Since then he has cooked at some Island gems such as Dalvay by the Sea, the Blue Mussel Cafe, The Dundee Arms and the Lucy Maude Dining room. He later co-owned The Maple Grille Restaurant in beautiful Downtown Charlottetown where it thrived for over 10 years.
